Factorio 24 belt balancer

This is just a collection of useful Factorio blueprint books I have either found online or made myself. Links are included where applicable. I recommend using this Chrome extension to quickly copy these into Factorio. Each book contains a balancer, straight belt segments of widths 2, 4, and 8, as well as belt curves of widths 4 and 8.

The need for balancers of 5, 7, or 8 lanes is rather uncommon, so this book provides a smaller alternative to the All belt balancers collection. This book contains two unloading stations and four loading stations.

All stations have eight inserters per wagon plus eight more to feed the buffer The "smart" loading stations balance each buffer using circuit conditions. Half of these output the contents of the buffer to red wire, carried by medium power poles. These work best when stations are separated by 6 rail widths. Here is the same book, but using red belts and fast inserters, marked with [T2] tier 2. This book contains four requester unloading stations and four provider loading stations.

Each type has a base and an extension, and each of those is either hard-coded filter inserters are preprogrammed or adaptive filter inserters are wired to the station.

This book contains eight depot station blueprints of various lengths 4, 6, Skip to content. Sign in Sign up. Instantly share code, notes, and snippets. Last active Nov 13, Code Revisions 16 Stars 17 Forks 1. Embed What would you like to do? Embed Embed this gist in your website.

I've been slowly chipping away at my first rail and megabase world and I'm getting to the point where I need to efficiently grow my copper and iron stations. They're currently setup to support 48 lines of their ore type 24 on either side of the stationbut all my stations are filling up at different rates. I noticed on the wiki that theres balancers up to 16 lines and I should add I can't use the 16 line version since I only have access to red belts right now.

Basically, my lines are a mess which is why I'm not even bothering to post a screenshot, and I'm all for remaking all my 48 output lines or I can make it a slightly soil mechanics exam questions answers pdf number if that's easierbut how manitou dtc codes you go about balancing something on this scale? Other than that, you might just invent a new balancer. Here's a forum post from 2 years ago, with in-line i.

Oh my piccolo. They're beautiful for sure, but I may lose my mind before I copy something of that magnitude from a screenshot haha! Still, thats a great reference thank you : And Lips, that's definitely one way to go about it in general, but that won't help me. I have roughly 12 trains randomly picking stops at my station to feed my 48 mining stations. I actually am currently using a derivation of that where I have splitters in a diagnoal pattern to keep shoving ore down the line if one line goes full, but its far from balanced I just did it to get a bit further in progression lol.

Bots in a restricted network are also a good option to balance throughput on belts. As always, this community rocks with the quick and helpful responses! Piccolo-san: Yea thanks again. I'll take another look but looking at that screenshot - it actually gave me an idea for a 'quick and dirty' way to balance the belts without perfectly balancing them. Hedning: I'll try to do just that, I'm going to cut a few corners balancing using Piccolo's link as a reference. That being said, I love your setup - it's so nice and clean : I think I may 'borrow' your loading station design when I hit blue belts if that's cool : Katherine: You'd normally be spot on as usual about the blue belts, but I guess you'd call this a challenge run for me where I'm building mini-factories from the start, connected by rails, rather than your preferred and MUCH easier method of waiting until hitting the top of the tech tree and having the bots do all the work.

I did give myself a small mini factory with some essentials before I started expanding, but I'm really enjoying this challenge run even though it's been a WIP for over 3 months now as I've been chipping away.

Using belts is so much more relaxing to watch as they work :. Agreed about watching the belts -- I just wanted to give you more options Originally posted by piccolo :.

This play through will be the first one I have done with default settings for biters.

I just unlocked robots so it should be easier going from here on out. Moved south and stared up a train based sorta city blockish design. I return to the base via a supply train and once robots fill my inventory I dump it in the train and wait for more.

Just got smart and made a self suppling train. Fun times. You never fix the bottleneck, you just move it. You never fix the bottleneck, you just move it Excuse me while I just go cry in my pathetic attempts at one full blue belt of bkue circuits. LOL, that is the dream. I hope you are using modules and beacons in that. Oh wow. For that you need many, many green circuits about 16 lanes. And without level 3 production modules, forget about it.

I should use production modules more often. I mostly just use speed, but thinking about it now I realize, especially on the higher tier stuff, that production makes more sense and lowers actual lower tier parts requirements for a certain output.Released: Aug 14, A property testing simulator for balancers from the game Factorio.

They are frequently used in large factories to move large amounts of items to a variety of different areas in a manner where no one belt worth of items getting backlogged more items coming at it than it can use results in other projects not getting full throughput or at least as much as they can use.

I have some ideas on how to approach this problem, but am nowhere near having it solved. The first idea is about how to represent the problem: We can represent the input belts and output belts as vertices of a directed graph.

Looking at the problem this way, it is easy to see that a necessary condition is that input on any belt can reach any output belt it is necessary because if not, then consider the case of all input on one input belt and all but one output belt backlogged with 0 throughput; in such a case, if you can't route that input belt's input to the output belt you won't get any throughputbut this condition is not sufficient multiple examples that satisfy this condition have been shown both theoretically and experimentally to fail to have the desired universally throughput unlimited property.

An important thing to note is that belts can be routed under other belts via underground belts, hence planarity of the above described graph is not necessary. The fact that splitters have some very specific behaviors is important to this problem: They will always try to balance outputs provided there is no backlog, hence, in a no backlog scenario the output on each belt leaving a splitter is half of the total input on both of its input belts.

If however, one of the output belts is backlogged with no throughput, then all of the throughput will be merged onto the 'free' belt up to it's throughput limit. If more alcatel 5049z root one belt worth of throughput is coming into a splitter in this case, then both input belts will start to bottleneck each belt's effective throughput will be half of the maximum because that's how much of the saturated output belt is coming from the given input belt.

Sometimes a backlog is only a reduction in throughput do to bottlenecking down the line somewhere in such a case, a splitter will still split input equally up to that the reduced throughput on the lowest throughput belt, after that, all remaining throughput is thrown at the belt with additional capacity until that two is saturated, and if there is any more input coming at the given splitter then both of its input belts will start to backlog.

This backlog phenomenon can result in some very subtle behaviors. For instance a splitter causing a backlog with some throughput but not enough to avoid backlog, can lead to a reduction in throughput for another splitter's output belt, shifting more of it's input onto the other output belt which might cause a splitter further down that belt to suddenly become a bottleneck and backlog, etc.

There exist UTU balancers for 3, 4, and 5 belts, and likely for any number of belts. Examples are given in this Jupyter notebookalong with a Python implementation of an iterative algorithm for computing the flow for any set of belts and splitters. I will quote some of the notebook here for those who don't wish to follow the link.

Factorio 7616 red circuits per minute, as compact as I can get it!

I refer to splitters as junctions, since that's how they really function. Each belt is composed of unit length segments, referred to in the game as tiles. Note that some balancers used in practice contain loops and could not be represented by our model without an infinite length belt.

For the purposes of testing UTU, we are only interested in setting these values to zero or one, but more general values will work with the algorithm below. The main condition to be satisfied is conservation at each junction. It turns out to be much more complicated than I expected to satisfy this condition at each junction in a way consistent with how splitters work, and that is reflected in the code below.Copy of Raynquist's Fall belt balancer collection, organized into nested blueprint books by number of input belts.

Replacement larger yellow belt versions are included in a dedicated book for those where available. A few balancers had underground lengths shortened and extra regular belts added to make them compatible with lower tier belts compared to Raynquist's designs.
